In what many feel will be his comeback fight, Manny Pacquiao is set to return to the boxing ring to fight American Brandon Rios in a 12-round welterweight bout in Macau on November 24.
Coming off two losses in a row, this will be Pacquiao’s first fight since being knocked out cold by Juan Manuel Marquez in the sixth round of their December fight. He was left unconscious for several minutes, face down, and lying on the canvas.
This will also be the first fight outside the United States since 2006 for the Filipino boxer 54-5-2 (38 knockouts), who also lost to Timothy Bradley in his only bout last year. His losses to Bradley and Marquez seemingly ended all hopes for a mega fight against the undefeated American Floyd Mayweather, Jr., fresh off a win over Mexican Robert Guerrero.
Rios, 31-1-1 (23 knockouts, is also coming off a loss care of Mike Alvarado. Alvarado won via unanimous decision in their March fight in Las Vegas.
