Ga. School Shooting – 20-Year-Old Charged

ga shootingAn Atlanta-area elementary school, Ronald E. McNair Discovery Learning Academy in Decatur witnessed random gunfire on Tuesday. The police chief said that no one was injured and more than 800 students from pre-kindergarten to fifth grade were evacuated safely. Those evacuated were made to sit near a fence in a field before school buses came to pick and shift them to the nearby Wal-Mart.

The Suspect

The suspect who was later identified as Michael Brandon Hill, a 20-year-old is said to have fired at least half-dozen shots from an assault rifle. Hill even tried to shoot the police officers who were swarming outside the school campus. The officers in turn, return fired when they caught the man alone. It was only then that Hill surrendered.

Several weapons were found on the accused, although the exact number is not specified. The motive behind the sudden attack is also not known as of now.
