These filaments are what you could consider the “ink” of the 3D printer. The filaments are any material such as metal, wax, or thermoplastic you can use to form physical, three-dimensional objects. They can come in several colors too.

Spool

The spool is what holds the filaments while they’re not in use. You just need to roll the filament around the spool as if it was thread. Some suppliers sell reusable spools so that you can use them for another roll of filament once the first one runs out.

3D Printer

Of course, you’ll need a 3D printer to perform the main process. Before printing the 3D object, make sure you already have the design or image of the object saved in your computer. The 3D printer will use this as the base for the object it will be making.
