Launched last April 12, Facebook paves way to new ideas with its new mobile interface, Facebook Home. Tracked by the Installs chart on the Google Play page, the downloads have reached more than 500,000.
Home comes with a collection of apps that ties people more closely to the social networking site. Enter Cover Feed, which converts the Android’s home screen into a scrolling feed of friends’ updates. Meanwhile, the fresh feature Chat Heads helps users keep in touch through Facebook or text messages, even while using other apps. Its design received mixed reviews worldwide.
Taking off with Home is Facebook’s smartphone – the HTC First for AT&T that is optimized to run the interface. It comes at USD 99 with a contract. Home is also available on a handful of Android smartphones, including the Samsung Galaxy S III, Samsung Galaxy Note II, HTC One X and HTC One X+.
